My dear Beryl,

Our Führer is today (6:18 afternoon) 93 if still alive as some of his devotees believe. It matters little in fact, for, alive or dead, he is everlasting. His teaching is “Dem Ursinn der Dinge entpsrechend,” as he said himself.

I just now received your letter — redirected from Vurey (took a week to reach me!). It was so kind of you to write to me — and to come to see me, of course! From the depth of my heart. I thank you — and with you soon get a good (well-paid) job, and an interesting one in your own line. I only wish I can get an Indian passport in my real name Savitri Devi Mukherji, and go back to New Delhi and get a room there not too far from where Mlle. Hirn lives, and have a cat. I miss the lovely black and white one from Vurey. Here I cannot see any. A friend (young French comrade) is trying to get an independent room for me with the possibility to cook my own food. I hate “institutions” in which one is “served”! I am old enough and still able enough to serve myself. They always give you such heaps of food, of which 3/4 (or 9/10!) are wasted after I eat what I eat of it — a spoonful or two (and one course only). (I don’t like “variety”: a bit of this and a bit of that!)

But the worst here is the artificial light, put on in the corridor in the morning 6:30 a.m. It hurts my poor eyes. For here the rooms have glass doors.

But the 3 first days I was here it was hell! I had to share a room with two other old women, one of whom had a transistor which she put on from 8 a.m. to evening. I was literally going crazy!

Thank goodness I now have a single room.

When you get a good job and can come, do please bring me nothing but oranges and soft figs for I am, especially since I came (was sent) here, suffering from constipation. They give us hardly any fruits here, and too much starchy foods (potatoes and again potatoes!). I take (of the 3 courses) salad only (but the oil I brought from Vurey is getting finished). Also the AGIOLAX I had from Germany, homeopathic stuff (grains) against constipation, is getting finished.

Your delicious chocolate is lovely — but dangerous. I had a bite of it today of course (the great day).

It was very kind of you to write to F. Dior Jordan and especially Muriel Gantry whom I love very dearly. Thank you also for ordering Odal. It is wonderful.

India does not accept people over 75 with foreign passports. Sends them back to the passport’s country! So I must get an Indian passport. No answer yet from Indian Embassy.

With thanks, best wishes and best love,
Savitri
