Postcard from Savitri Devi to Beryl Cheetham – 23 December 1980

108 words

New Delhi
23 December 1980

Dear Beryl,

How do you like this Beauty of a feline, with his 18 stripes? He brings you my best wishes of health, good luck, and happiness. I caressed one of his fellow big cats passing my arm up to the shoulder between the bars of his prison — his cage in Calcutta Zoo — once in 1935 and again in 1959. He rubbed his lovely head against the bars . . . and purred.

Am glad hunting them is forbidden now in India. Should have been long ago.

Too many inferior races on earth. Not enough Aristocrats — four legged ones (of the jungle) and two legged ones: the Aryan élite.

Love,
Savitri
