Interviews with Marc Nicoud from 1982
166 words
A French bookseller named Marc Nicoud began corresponding with Savitri during the late 1970s after becoming enthusiastic about her books. Upon her return to France in 1982, Nicoud met with her on several occasions in the Val d’Azergues geriatric hospital in Alix, where she was being kept due to her poor health (she describes this period in her correspondence at the time, available on this site). Nicoud conducted a series of interviews with her that he recorded on audio cassettes, totaling approximately seven hours. He said that the recordings were made on April 19, April 29, and May 11, less than six months before her death in October of the same year. The recordings are in French. There are some seconds of silence at the beginning of each recording before the speaking begins.
